Hands Free Calling Tips
Wireless Bluetooth connectivity has become quite the standard or at least extra option for many new automobiles. Systems vary, though you should expect an in-dash display and call buttons on the steering wheel.
As explained on bluetooth.com, placing a call is as easy as pressing a button on the steering wheel and saying a voice command like “call home.” The Bluetooth system pairs with your phone and runs the audio through your car’s speakers. Such systems also can read texts and stream music from your device as well.
If your car doesn’t offer built-in Bluetooth capability, you can retrofit it with a Bluetooth-enabled car kit. These can attach to your car’s sun visor, auxiliary jack or a dash mount, and typically run through their own built-in speaker or an unused FM station in your vehicle.
